Fuel TV Goes Behind the Scenes at Quiksilver Viral Video Shoot

Boardsports icon Quiksilver and Cuker Interactive recently joined forces to develop "The Spot", a groundbreaking viral video campaign featuring skate legend Tony Hawk and riders Alex Olson, Danny Garcia, Kyle Leeper, and Reese Forbes. The video has already received nearly 100,000 visits since launch and continues to win praise from viewers across the Web.

The unprecedented concept behind "The Spot" proved to be so compelling that cable television station Fuel TV asked to document the shoot. The crew from the show "The Daily Habit" dropped by the massive green screen studio during the all-day, top-secret filming for a special segment featuring viral marketing and the Quiksilver video shoot.

Fuel TV host Renee Renee provided viewers with a sneak peek into the making of the video, including exclusive interviews with the athletes and production team. The behind-the-scenes episode gave Tony Hawk and the other riders the opportunity to express their enthusiasm for participating in such an original and technically-advanced project.

From the storyboards, to video shoot, to post-production and marketing, Cuker Interactive drove the execution of the viral video development. The partnership with Quiksilver allowed the Cuker team to leverage both digital technology and Web experience to create a one-of-a-kind viral initiative that continues to drive traffic and spread brand awareness.

"Video viewership on the Web has increased 34% over the last year and our goal was to use this medium to drive a campaign that was never before seen in the skate industry," said Cuker Interactive Marketing Director Aaron Cuker. "Quiksilver is a leader in action sports and our objective was to help make sure they maintained their reputation for innovation."

"It was truly an honor to work with a team of such talented professionals, from the athletes to the crew," added Associate Creative Director Nick Abrams, who directed the shoot. "It was an awesome opportunity to be a part of something so far ahead of its time, from concept to execution."

The video has garnered the attention of a global audience as well as earning widespread respect from within the skate community. The behind-the-scenes episode premiered June 16th on Fuel TV's "The Daily Habit."
